The Grade

Creating Space Around an Existing Pool

This Ancaster backyard already had a pool, but significant elevation changes limited the usable space around it. The homeowner's main request was a large armour stone retaining wall that would make the pool area more functional.

Working in tight spaces beside the existing pool, Creative Concepts carefully installed large armour stone boulders to form a curved retaining wall. A fence above the wall was planned together with the pool, patio and gardens, bringing these elements into one coordinated layout.

Additional retaining walls, a stone patio, gardens and a new shed completed the landscape. The project included pool alterations while preserving the existing pool, creating a more organized and usable backyard on a challenging sloped property.
